This policy explains how ("we", "us"), based in , handles your personal data when you use ExamsPrepApp. We follow the EU/EEA General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Norwegian Personal Data Act.

What we collect and why

  • Account data (email, name, password stored in encrypted form): to create and secure your account. Legal basis: contract.
  • Learning data (quiz scores, saved items, lessons viewed): to show your progress and study plan. Legal basis: contract.
  • Payment data: payments are handled by Stripe. We receive your plan, payment status and country, never your full card number. Legal basis: contract and legal obligation (accounting).
  • Messages you send us: to answer you. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
  • Analytics (only if you allow it): anonymous, cookie-free page statistics through Cloudflare Web Analytics. Legal basis: consent.

Storage on your device

We use your browser's local storage to keep you logged in and to remember your language, theme and privacy choice. This is strictly necessary for the site to work. We do not use advertising cookies. Videos are embedded with YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode and load only when you press play.

Who we share data with (processors)

  • Supabase (database and login)
  • Stripe (payments)
  • Cloudflare (website hosting and security)
  • Google / YouTube (video playback, when you press play)
  • Resend (account emails, if enabled) and Formspree (contact form, if enabled)

Some of these providers process data outside the EEA. Where they do, transfers are protected by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision. We never sell your data.

How long we keep data

Account and learning data are kept while your account exists and deleted when you delete your account. Payment records are kept for the period required by accounting law (in Norway, 5 years).

Your rights

You can access, correct, download or delete your data at any time. Go to My account → Settings & data to download your data or delete your account, or contact us. You may withdraw consent for analytics at any time by clearing your browser data. You can also complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) or your local data protection authority.

Children

Students under 13 should use ExamsPrepApp with a parent or guardian, who should create and manage the account.

Changes

We will post any changes on this page and notify account holders by email of important changes.
